[Updated] Welcoming Ten Translators and Editors of Japanese Literature from Six Countries (November 9–18, 2026)

#News#Translators&EditorsOfJapaneseLiterature2026

The Japan Foundation (JF) is delighted to welcome six translators and four editors from six countries: Argentina, Colombia, Indonesia, Mexico, Thailand, and Vietnam.

Through lectures by experts, meetings with some of Japan’s most prominent authors, and visits to publishing houses, the group will have opportunities to deepen their understanding of contemporary Japanese literature and literary translation as well as established publishing structures and current trends in the publishing and literary fields in Japan during their stay.

The program will also feature roundtable discussions, where the participants will exchange views on the current state of translation and publication of Japanese literature in their respective countries and discuss future possibilities for literary exchange between Japan and their countries and regions.

Through this invitation program, JF aims to deepen participants’ professional knowledge of the translation and publication of Japanese literary works, foster networks among publishing professionals and experts in Japan and translators and editors from participating countries, and help build a foundation for future exchange through literature and publishing in each country and region.
