Report: Mottainai Grandma Author Events Organized by the Japan Foundation, New Delhi

To mark the twenty-year anniversary of the publication of Mottainai Grandma by Kodansha Ltd., the New Delhi office of the Japan Foundation organized events with author and illustrator Shinju Mariko from January 23 to 25 in New Delhi and Kozhikode. Shinju read from the work at Bal Bharati Public school in Dwarka and held a book-signing event at the Eureka bookstore. She later attended the Kerala Literature Festival.

Since its translation into English by Prem Prakash in 2018 (published by the National Book Trust), Mottainai Grandma has enjoyed a huge following in India, where it has been translated into an additional eight languages.
