Lecture: Literature after March 11 as testimony

The Japanese Cultural Institute in Paris (Maison de la culture du Japon à Paris) will hold a conference entitled “Literature after March 11 as testimony.” Fourteen years have passed since the Great East Japan Earthquake, and literary works continue to address this turning point in Japan’s contemporary history. Saeko Kimura, professor at Tsuda University, and Anne Bayard-Sakai, emeritus professor at Institut National des Langues et Civilisations Orientales (Inalco), will discuss how collective memory of the disaster is gradually developed and transformed through literature.
